Since starting as Project Assistant for AME Marketing in 2005,
I've been lucky enough to work on almost every project that has come through the door. Although it has meant I've
been busy all of the time, it's been great to get my teeth into a variety of marketing projects.
I graduated in 2004, which feels like a million years ago now, with an Upper Second Class Joint Honours Degree in Marketing
and Psychology from Strathclyde University's Business School. I found myself a short marketing placement with The Sushi
Company, which funnily enough was a small company selling sushi, before the final year of my degree. I had the unenviable
job of selling sushi to Scots - not easy! But the experience gave me a taste of marketing for a small business and some
invaluable experience.
After Uni, I wanted a bit of adventure before settling down, so I took myself off to the other side of the world.
But then it was back to reality and trying to find a job. Luckily, after applying to AME Marketing, I got the job as
Project Assistant.
One of my main duties is writing our blog, which has become an online 'On Target' mixed with current affairs and whatever might take
our fancy in the office that week. I've also supported Lynn and Graham on a variety of projects, which has meant that every day has
been different. Some days I might work on a marketing plan. On other days I'll be writing press releases, doing market research, or
even just stuffing envelopes for our latest direct mail campaign.
I'm looking forward to all the new projects that 2007 might bring and am looking for a real challenge this year. So, why not get in
touch and give me something exciting to get my teeth stuck into? Like I used to say in my days working in Asda as a student, I'm
'Happy to Help!'
