Strategic Marketing Planning for SLIC



The Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) is the independent advisory body to the Scottish Executive and Scottish Ministers on library and Information matters.

SLIC members include all local authority, higher education, further education organisations, NHS Trust library services, as well as other specialist library and information organisations.

AME Marketing won the contract to devise a strategic marketing plan for an exciting new inter-library loan service that will be introduced by several SLIC members. The service, which will first launch as a pilot scheme in specific areas of Scotland, allows library users to access a much wider range of non-fiction books than would normally be the case. Since the service utilises the internet, it's also easier for users to place orders for the books, which are automatically sent to the local library for collection.

As well as providing a full marketing plan for the launch of the service, AME Marketing made several recommendations on how the service can be promoted to its potential users.
